How bad is my mold problem?
In order not to expose the consumer to any risk from the products used, the packaging contains corresponding instructions for use that are subject to the statutory provisions. As soon as these application and safety instructions are observed and the products are used as intended, no adverse health effects can be assumed.
Therefore, always read the instructions for use before use and adhere to them! If in doubt, you can also call the advice hotline (phone number on the packaging).
Do I end the mold infestation permanently after application?
An anti-mould product can only ever eliminate or prevent the symptoms, i.e. mould infestation, but never combat the cause. It is therefore important to find the cause of the mold infestation. This can be, for example, structural defects or incorrect ventilation behavior. As long as the cause of the mold infestation is not remedied, there is a risk of renewed mold infestation.
How can I take proper precautions in problematic areas?
For example, by mixing an anti-mold additive into water-based building materials (paste, mortar, plaster, wall paint, etc.) during renovation work. The additive prevents the spread of mold not only in problematic areas. The product is also suitable for substrate restoration. When diluted and applied to absorbent surfaces, it remains as a 'depot active ingredient' and thus prevents mold infestation.
There is also the option of impregnating problematic areas, which prevents moisture absorption on the surface and thus deprives the mold of its basis for life. Impregnation is often used on the backs of furniture and window reveals.
Will the wallpaper be damaged during mold removal?
No, the anti-mold products do not damage the wallpaper. BUT: As wallpaper is made of organic materials, it is a food source for mold. So if the fungus has been on the wallpaper for a long time, you can assume that it has already fed on it and accordingly destroyed the wallpaper (e.g. small holes). In such cases, always remove the wallpaper, clean the substrate and then re-wallpaper.
What if mold appears in the middle of the home and not in typical places, such as on the outside walls?
The cause should then be found as quickly as possible. This could be a burst pipe or other structural defects, for example. The ventilation behavior of the residents could also play a role.
How do you deal with mold on joint material (e.g. on windows or in the bathroom)?
In the case of grouting material, the biofilm - which has formed in the shower, for example, due to water, shower gel and other residues - is usually the breeding ground for mold. So if the mold is just sitting on the grout, removing it with the chlorinated mold remover is no problem. During application, light mold stains in the joint material are also bleached and removed.
However, if the joint is already older and the fungus has already penetrated the joint material or is coming from areas behind the joint, then the only solution is to replace the joint material. It should not be forgotten that a joint is always a maintenance joint and should be replaced regularly (every 3 - 5 years).
Interior insulation, what are the options?
When insulating the interior, you should always ensure that breathable materials are used that can absorb and release excess moisture, such as a calcium silicate board. All other materials prevent the natural exchange of air and moisture and are more likely to promote mold growth.
The myth of incorrect ventilation ... always applicable?
Almost always. Incorrect ventilation is one of the most common causes of mold growth. Air exchange between indoors and outdoors is essential for a healthy indoor climate. During ventilation, excessive humidity is transported from the interior to the outside environment. When ventilating, care should be taken not to leave windows and doors open for too long in cold weather to prevent the interior walls from cooling down. It is therefore better to open windows and doors for 5 - 10 minutes more often during the day (shock ventilation).
Is the mold coming from inside or outside?
Mold spores are always present in the air. It becomes dangerous when the spores become concentrated due to a lack of regular air exchange (e.g. indoors) and find ideal living conditions. Moisture, warmth and nutritious surfaces quickly create a fungal network.
What do I have to look out for when carrying out repair work, e.g. on plaster?
Very important: before starting the renovation work, the mold must be killed to prevent the mold spores from spreading. Therefore, always treat with Mold Remover first in accordance with the application instructions. Then remove the infested materials. If the substrate has been attacked, the plaster must also be removed and replaced, e.g. on plastered surfaces.
Is mold just a blemish?
No! Mold poses a health risk to humans. Mold emits vapors and spores that pose a serious risk to the human organism. When inhaled, the spores can enter the lungs and trigger asthma, for example. Other symptoms include a skin rash, fatigue, headaches or flu-like symptoms. Children and older people are particularly susceptible. It is therefore important to remove mold infestation immediately.
What behavior makes the mold problem worse?
In which the mold infestation is ignored and not eliminated. Or the growth conditions are encouraged by incorrect ventilation, excessive humidity indoors, too low a room temperature and external walls that are too cold.

Do odors arise when using SchimmelX mould remover containing chlorine?
The active ingredient used in SchimmelX mold remover containing chlorine (sodium hypochlorite solution 4.99% active chlorine) breaks down into common salt, water and oxygen during application. After a reaction time of approx. 15 minutes, when the active ingredient has completely decomposed, the treated surface should be wiped with a damp cloth to remove the resulting common salt, which can act as a separating layer.
Chlorine is also produced as a by-product, which causes the typical swimming pool odor due to its very low odor threshold. This slight odor of chlorine, which can last up to 3 days, can be reduced by sufficient ventilation or airing the treated room. The resulting chlorine odor is not harmful to health and, as already mentioned, is comparable to the chlorine odor in a swimming pool. There is no way to eliminate the chlorine odor other than ventilation. If only a small area has been treated with it (< 1m2), the odor should no longer persist with further ventilation.
The SchimmelX mold remover containing chlorine should never be used with other products, especially acids. Chlorine gas may be produced.
The surface cleaned (wiped with a damp cloth) and completely dried with SchimmelX Mold Remover chlorine-containing can be filled, painted or wallpapered again without hesitation. It is no longer possible for the chlorinated SchimmelX mold remover to react with subsequent products, as the active ingredient has already decomposed and is no longer available.
If handled properly, no harmful effects are to be expected.
The product only poses an acute hazard when used directly (spraying). These hazards and the corresponding protective measures are described on the product label, safety data sheet and technical information.

Do odors arise when using the chlorine-free SchimmelX mould remover?
The active ingredient (hydrogen peroxide 7.9%) used in the chlorine-free SchimmelX mold remover decomposes into water and oxygen during application. After a reaction time of 30-60 minutes, the active ingredient has completely decomposed. Any dissolved residue should be removed with a damp sponge or soft cloth.
The surface cleaned with SchimmelX Mold Remover chlorine-free (wiped with a damp cloth) and completely dried can be filled, painted or wallpapered again without hesitation. A reaction of SchimmelX Mold Remover chlorine-free with subsequent products is no longer possible, as the active ingredient has already decomposed and is no longer available. Furthermore, no harmful or unpleasant odors can arise when the product/active ingredient decomposes. Please note that interactions with other substances cannot be ruled out.
In addition, possible odors are also due to the substrate and can be caused by incorrect application.
If handled correctly, no harmful effects are to be expected.
